Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 48

Welcome to Pack 48 located in New Orleans, LA, chartered by St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and School. Pack 48 (and associated Boy Scout Troop 48) started in 1929 and is the oldest continuously operating pack in New Orleans.

Our dens are made up of all boys or all girls at several surrounding schools in addition to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, including Audubon Charter School, Isidore Newman School, St. George's Episcopal School, Hynes, ISL, MJCS, and Lycee Francais. Each den typically has between 10-15 boys or girls with one den leader and at least 1 assistant leader. Our meetings are generally held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church parish hall at 8017 Zimple St. (Carrollton Ave. and Zimple Street).

Our goal is to provide an environment for our scouts to grow, learn, make new friends and most of all HAVE FUN!

This site is intended to inform the parents and Scouts of Pack 48 about upcoming events as well as to provide resources to the parents and leaders of Pack 48 so we can deliver a quality program for our youth. For the protection of our Scouts and their families you must have a user ID and password to access most of our site.

Healthy Snack for Lions and Tigers Den Meeting Sunday

Posted on Jan 8 2022 - 11:10am

Hello, Lion and Tiger Parents!

We will discuss nutrition and exercise at the meeting on Sunday, Jan 9.  Please help your scout prepare a healthy snack to bring to the den meeting. Some ideas include apples and bananas, veggies and dip, nuts, berries, etc. I will also bring some trail mix ingredients so that each scout can make their own trail mix. Feel free to call or text me if you have any questions, 504-250-8219. See you Sunday!

Welcome Back Families!

Posted on Oct 12 2020 - 9:29am

Hello Families!

I hope that you are all surviving a very crazy 2020!  Though we are a little behind in starting up the new year, we are excited to finally get things going with our Back to the Pack Picnic THIS SUNDAY!  Join us to get all the latest information and have some socially distant fun with your fellow scout families.  We will be having the picnic at 12pm in the Parish House (Charlestrom House) back yard.  We will be grilling food and have other snacks for the kids!  Attached is also the recruiting flyer for the coming year.  Please share this with friends and family that you think would be interested in joining the pack.  Please remember that masks should be worn except when eating or drinking and that everyone should practice social distancing during the picnic.  I hope to see all of you there as we discuss and plan for the coming year.  Though thing will be different due to Covid, it is more important than ever to provide our scouts with a safe environment where they are able to enjoy the outdoors and acquire new skills.
